Daytime Care Services
At PFC, our daytime care services are designed to provide a supportive and stimulating environment for individuals with special needs. We understand that every person is unique, and we tailor our care to meet the specific needs of each service user. Our programs include a variety of activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and cognitive development.
Our Activities
- Day Trips and Outings: We organise regular day trips to local attractions and places of interest, including visits to parks, museums, and nearby towns. A highlight of our outings is our trips to Ingoldmells, where service users can enjoy the seaside and local amenities.
- Holiday Programs: Our holiday programs provide a chance for service users to experience new environments and enjoy extended trips away from home, with their friends, all within a safe and supportive framework.
- In-Centre Activities: Within our centre, we offer a wide range of activities, including drama, arts and crafts, 3D-printing workshops, music sessions in our new recording studio, games, life-skills and educational workshops, all of which are designed to engage and entertain our service users.
- Community Involvement and Fundraising: PFC is deeply rooted in the local community, and our fundraising efforts are key to maintaining and expanding our services. From hosting discos at local pubs to organising talent shows and bake sales, we bring the community together to support a common cause. These events not only raise vital funds but also provide opportunities for our service users to interact with the broader community.

We organise a variety of holidays and weekend breaks across the UK, offering our service users the chance to explore new places, relax, and create lasting memories. Destinations include popular spots like Butlins, Ingoldmells, and Blackpool, with our next exciting trip planned for 25th April to Southport.
In addition to UK getaways, we also arrange trips abroad every 18-24 months, giving our service users the opportunity to experience different cultures and climates. Past holidays have included Lloret de Mar, Salou, and this year, we’re thrilled to be heading to the beautiful island of Tenerife.
Our holidays are designed to be inclusive, fun, and tailored to suit everyone's preferences, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience for all.
Community Involvement
At Pontefract Family Centre, we believe in giving back to the community and fostering meaningful connections with the surrounding areas. Our service users take pride in participating in activities such as carol services, variety shows, and group singing performances.
These events are not only a fantastic way to showcase talents and build confidence but also an opportunity to bring joy and entertainment to the wider community. By sharing these performances at local venues and events, we aim to spread positivity and strengthen our ties with the people and organisations around us.
Community involvement is at the heart of what we do, ensuring that PFC remains an integral and valued part of the area we serve.
